Lucky International Trading, Inc. LIT Foods, a food service distribution company based in Kansas City, has donated over 2,000 meals to five different area organizations since the end of April. David King, Vice President of LIT Foods, has been working with local nonprofits, including University Academy, Bishop Sullivan Center, Operation Breakthrough, Hope House, and City Union Mission, to provide meals to low-income households and the homeless. Recent restaurant partnerships include Sobahn Korean Restaurant, an Asian Chamber member, who helped provide meals earlier this month. Additional restaurants include Jade Bowl, Happy Dragon, Wing Lee, Grandview Buffet, Lao Peking, Master Wok in Olathe, and Chen’s Kitchen. LIT Foods plans to continue these meal donations with each donation reaching at least 200 meals or more.

If anyone is looking for an organization to which they can donate their time or resources, King encourages reaching out to University Academy, Bishop Sullivan Center, Operation Breakthrough, Hope House, or City Union Mission to assist in their efforts of providing for the under-served population in our community.
