Abigail Freeman, Risk Analyst for McCownGordon. Her role in the Risk and Legal Department gives her a unique perspective on the risks facing subcontractors in today’s market. Her role is to prequalify subcontractors for work with McCownGordon in order to set them up for success on projects with the company. Previously working in behavioral health, she prioritizes people in her work and feels that relationships are the key to success. Abigail holds a Masters in Business Administration and has been with McCownGordon for nearly 4 years.
Scott Kimzey, Vice President of Preconstruction, has nearly thirty years’ experience in the construction industry. A graduate from Kansas State University, his depth of estimating experience gives him the knowledge needed to develop creative cost-saving solutions which help project owners achieve their goals.
As a seasoned leader, Scott has worked on projects in a wide variety of market sectors including science and technology, corporate office, civic, healthcare, higher education, manufacturing and industrial. Some of his notable projects in the Kansas City area include Metropolitan Community College, Children’s Mercy Research Institute and Hy-Vee Arena. He leads the preconstruction process for McCownGordon, working closely with trade partners, design teams and owners to deliver comprehensive preconstruction services. Scott prioritizes strong, collaborative relationships with diverse trade partners to deliver exceptional results.
Willy Pegues is the Vice President, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) for McCownGordon. He is a versatile leader with professional experience in the construction, healthcare and technology industries, operating in dynamic environments which include both Fortune 500 and NonProfit organizations.
He brings strengths in leadership, communication, problem solving, and decision making. He has proven abilities to develop cross-functional teams to work collaboratively to solve organizational issues and improve processes.
Willy is responsible for strategic oversight of the organization's DEI efforts both internal and external. He catalyzes and facilitates organizational change to foster a thriving diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for associates. He holds two master's degrees - Business Administration and Strategic Studies.
