This webinar will promote opportunities to provide information about free tax assistance to low-and moderate-income households and small businesses. In addition, the event will discuss efforts to get more Americans banked during tax season. The webinar will feature:
1. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) - to discuss the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, information about free tax return prep at VITA sites, information about IRS.gov Online tools, IRS2Go app, IRS YouTube videos, and more;
2. VITA offices/Tax Resource organizations will share tax resources that benefit consumers and small businesses, and tax season partnership opportunities;
3. The FDIC will share information about the 2021 Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked Households, #GetBanked resources to help the unbanked population learn about how to open a bank account in order to receive their tax refund, and Certified Safe Bank Accounts
Who should attend: CRA Officers, compliance officers, bank loan officers, credit officers, and community organizations that serve low income people.
