Johnson County small businesses, including childcare facilities, will be able to apply for a Johnson County Small Business Recovery grant on February 8, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM (CST). The program offers qualified recipients a one-time $20,000 grant to offset revenue losses of 25% or greater incurred from 2019 through 2021 due to COVID-19. The program is open to all Johnson County small businesses (with at least one and no more than 50 full-time employees) who can verify significant revenue loss (of 25% or greater) during the period of January 2019 to December 2021.
The application will have two phases: 1) an online application which opens on February 8th at 10:00AM and 2) an appointment with a small business counselor to review the verification documents and other requirements. Qualifying small businesses must complete both phases to receive the grant.
To be eligible for a grant, your small business (profit or non-profit):
MUST - Be located in Johnson County, KS (proof of business address verified by lease agreement, rental agreement, mortgage statement, or utility bill).
MUST - Have 1 to 50 full-time employees (verified by employee roster).
MUST - Document revenue loss of 25% or greater during the period of January 2019 through December 2021 (verified by 2019 and 2021 tax returns).
