The Korean-American Society of Greater Kansas City donated 1,000 FDA-approved KN95 masks to the City of Overland Park for its employees on April 29, 2020. The donation was accepted by Sergeant Michael Minten, police officer for the City of Overland Park, at the W. Sanders Justice Center.

On behalf of the Korean-American Society, June Cho, Secretary General, expressed the desire to help the community. “I hope we can strengthen our community together at the time of crisis like this,” Cho mentioned in her email to the City.

The Overland Park Police Department tweeted later that day, “Thank you to the Korean-American Society of Greater Kansas City for the KN95 masks. From our Officers and Staff thank you.”
