KVC Health Systems is a private, nonprofit organization that touches over 60,000 people’s lives each year with in-home family support, behavioral healthcare, foster care, adoption and children’s psychiatric hospitals. It works to create healthy childhoods and healthy communities by helping families who are experiencing crisis or behavioral health challenges.
Locally, KVC is responsible for caring for half of all Kansas children in foster care due to abuse, neglect and other family challenges (3,700 children each day), helps youth at KVC Prairie Ridge children’s psychiatric hospital in Kansas City, KS; and also provides youth behavioral health programs at Niles in the historic 18th and Vine district.KVC was founded by a group of volunteers in Kansas City, KS in 1970 and has since grown to a team of nearly 1,600 caring professionals working from 35 locations in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Kentucky and West Virginia.
