Born With Seoul

Born With Seoul is a husband and wife team – Nick Crofoot and Angela Hong. Angela was born in South Korea and moved to Kansas City as a child. Her mom created everything from scratch using old world recipes and methods, which she then passed on to Angela. Angela and Nick enjoyed entertaining. After every dinner gathering, their guests would comment on how much they loved the flavor, and would ask where they too could get gochujang. Unfortunately, Korean products were rarely found in traditional grocery stores. In addition to that, the gochujang sold in Asian markets was full of high-fructose corn syrup and other not-so-healthy ingredients. So, they created Born With Seoul Korean gochujang.

Born With Seoul is based on the family’s recipe, but has been re-envisioned to be non-GMO, gluten free, vegan, and containing no high fructose corn syrup. Born With Seoul began in January of 2015. Once the flavors were perfected in March, the two co-founders enlisted the expertise of a local co-packer to bottle and officially launch in June of 2015.
