Scholarship Awards:

The Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) of the Greater Kansas City awards scholarships annually to qualified Asian American students who have obtained exceptional academic achievement or demonstrated exemplary leadership and involvement in community services. The winners will be selected based on the strength of the application and supporting documents provided to the Selection Committee.
Scholarship Selection Criteria
The applicant will be judged on:

Academic achievement,
including grades, rank in
class, standardized test
scores

Outstanding leadership
involvement in school or
community activities

Regional or national awards
and/or recognition

Work history
-
Personal attributes (For
anyone who overcame
extraordinary hardship due
to extraneous circumstances)
Eligibility of applicants
The applicant must:

Be of Asian descent
-
Fulfill one of the following
categories:
-
High school
senior
residing in
and
attending
high school
in one of
located in
one of the
counties
listed.**

Full-time
students
attending
one of the
following
community
colleges
located in
one of the
counties
listed.**

Full-time
students
attending
one of the
following
colleges or
universities
located in
one of the
counties
listed.**

High school
senior
residing in
and
attending
high school
in one of
located in
one of the
counties
listed.**
**Eligible counties—Kansas: Johnson, Wyandotte, Miami, Douglas and Leavenworth counties; Missouri: Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass counties.
Award Restrictions
The scholarship has the following rules and restrictions:

It is a one-time cash award
and will be payable directly
to the college or university
of the winner’s choice.
-
The scholarship must be
applied toward tuition or
room and board.
The value of the scholarship will be $1000.00 minimum.
